Now Open Thursday Through Monday 7AM to 10AM and 11AM to 2PM for Breakfast and Lunch
The Black Bear Restaurant has opened again! Monday, April 28th was the first day of service since closing for renovations. A salad bar and hot buffet are available for lunch (our ‘editorial team’ didn’t make it to breakfast). The salad bar could be the best in Jeff Davis County. Hot buffet was excellent and included: Salisbury Steak, Pork Chops, Chicken Breast, Mash Potatoes, and a variety of roasted vegetables. Drinks were limited to water and iced tea on opening day but a soda machine was visible and hopefully will be working soon.
This reporter was excited to see Jeff Davis County officials, employees, and friends at the opening. Park staff were able to pull together tables for their large group right away and everyone enjoyed their first meal back at the Black Bear. They will open again for their regular hours on Thursday, May 1st.
