FLASHDRIVE: David Flash Comes From Central Texas To Trespasses On A Private Road To Harass An Elected Official

Blogger David Wayne Flash, AKA THE FLASHOLE, took another trip to West Texas recently. David poses as a local journalist in The Big Bend, but he actually lives with his mom in Leander. Flash claims to have a business named Big Bend Times, but that business name does not exist in Texas and is not available because someone is already doing business as Big Bend Time Co LLC. David has been claiming that the Count Chair Elect of the Republican Party in Jeff Davis County is the publisher of this site and has been making spurious threats demanding our site stop using ‘his’ business name. The name does not belong to him, and since our site is the most trusted name in news in the Big Bend region, it only makes sense that our team be the ones who get to use the name exclusively.

During THE FLASHOLE’S recent trip to Fort Davis he was seen dropping off stickers and a letter related to his AI Slop blog, www.bigbendtimes.com. We have yet to identify anyone who did anything other than immediately throw these items in the trash. But the interesting thing is that as David was trespassing on a private road to get pictures of an elected official’s house, he left his piece of paper offering his marketing services to a person he has sent strange emails to demand they stop using ‘his’ ‘business’ name.

THE FLASHOLE does not appear to have one single customer for his ‘marketing business.’ If anyone out there is paying THE FLASHOLE for marketing services, please let us know. Our editorial team can help connect you with mental health services. The majority of the text in this letter is related to the trouble THE FLASHOLE has been creating in Jeff Davis County, along with a pitch at the end for his AI Slop ‘marketing’ services. Flash seems to only use The Big Bend as a place to create drama to feed his clickbait blogging. Not the kind of person you want doing marketing for your business. If a business in this area were to hire THE FLASHOLE to do marketing, we can imagine that business would be the site of protests, or be avoided like the plague. Perhaps both.

One can be forgiven for wondering if David Flash suffers from schizophrenia. One night, actually morning after 3:30AM, David sent what he calls ‘cease and desist letters’ to someone, and then later stops by that person’s house to drop off a sales pitch saying he wants to ‘colaborate’ and ‘help your business grow.’ Which is it David? Do you want to help The Most Trusted Name In News in The Big Bend grow their business and collaborate on projects, or do you want to sue?

Just a few weeks after offering to grow our business, Flash is again threatening someone he believes is operating the same business he offered to help.

David Flash leaving the residence of a local elected official, driving on a private road.

THE FLASHOLE didn’t just drop off a sales pitch, he also took a picture of the person’s home and used it in a blog post full of false statements that can be found here. THE FLASHOLE falsely accuses our site of copyright infringement, something David is very familiar with. When David posts pictures from this website, he claims that he is able to do this under the Fair Use provisions of copyright law. Our legal team agrees. This website is also allowed to post items under the Fair Use provision. David can’t claim that he is allowed Fair Use while also claiming that we are not. But it’s very likely Flash knows this, he just likes to throw out accusations hoping people will cower. Sometimes that works for Flash but it’s not going to work with our team.

In that article THE FLASHOLE also trots out his claim that we exploited the death of his brother. The article he is refering to is here. David Flash is constantly bringing up his brother’s passing. He seems to exploit his brother’s death every chance he gets. There seems to be a pattern in David’s personality that causes him to never stop finding ways to get engagement online. His brother’s death, his dog’s death, The Gulf of Mexico, his legal troubles in Jeff Davis County, just about anything that he thinks will draw traffic. What is so ironic about his complaining about others mentioning his brother’s death is that he has been know to exploit the death of others people’s family members in the most cruel ways possible. The most recent example we know of is when he wrote, or more likely generated AI Slop text in a blog post about County Judge Curtis Evans. Judge Evans never discusses his family history the way that Flash does. Flash accuses Judge Evans of needing therapy and attacks the Judges’s character. Yet Flash complains when others discuss his own exploitation of his brother’s death. What is good for the goose is good for the gander David.

Another thing Flash published in the Slop post was that Jake Knobloch is the County Chair of the Republican Party. This is a false statement. Mr. Knobloch has won election and is currently County Chair Elect. He will take office 20 days after the primary runoff election. David doesn’t seem to understand how Texas Government works. Or, he isn’t smart enough / too lazy to correct his AI Slop.

One of the most interesting things in THE FLASHOLE’s blog post is his reference to so called cease and desist letters. What actually happened is David sent strange emails from his personal email address with an endless list of false statements, including the claim that the Big Bend Times he operates, is a real business and not just some AI Slop blog. Next he claims the president of K&M Steam Cleaning, Ken Moncebaize, also sent a cease and desist ‘letter.’ What actually happened is David sent a second email from his personal gmail account moments later that begins “I am writing to you in my capacity as Vice President of Marketing for K&M Steam Cleaning…” THE FLASHOLE did copy Ken Moncebaiz’s personal gmail address on that email, but that’s a whole lot different than ‘the president of a separate company where he works also sent a cease-and-desist…”

Flash surely believes that, like the Big Bend Sentinel, he can harass our team and scare us into stopping our mission to expose Flash’s antisocial behavior using professional journalism. Nothing could be further from the truth. David can tresspass on an elected official’s private road all he wants. He can take pictures, generate AI Slop blog posts, send stupid emails after 3:30AM from a Holiday Inn Express in Corpus Christi, or anything else. We won’t back down. Flash and Ken Moncebaiz should remember the Streisand Effect and govern themselves accordingly. Steam cleaning companies rely on the trust of customers to allow them into their customers’ homes. We doubt people are going to want the company who’s VP calls a Justice of the Peace a “cunty fucking bitch” entering their homes. Who knows what kind of new troubles THE FLASHOLE will create for Ken moving forward.

The ridiculous letter David Flash left at someone’s home he had recently sent insane threats to.

If that letter is hard to read, here is the text:
BIG BEND TIMES

The Region’s Most Read News Outlet BigBendTimes.com

To the businesses and organizations of Fort Davis,

Communities with strong local news coverage are stronger—economically and socially. When a town is
visible online, businesses grow, tourism increases, and the community stays connected. That’s what
I’ve been working to build.

My connection to Fort Davis started with admiration. An Austin client, Bunny Roach, often talked
about how beautiful it was. When I saw it myself, I understood immediately. I fell in love with it and felt
blessed to live there—like many of you, wanting to build something meaningful in a place I believed in.

Over the past year, false criminal accusations were made against me—something anyone can imagine
is deeply damaging. But everything has been resolved in my favor. I challenged those actions and now
have four attorneys representing me in a federal civil rights lawsuit against Jeff Davis County. The
county has already spent over $27,000 defending it, and the case is still in its early stages.

I didn’t leave because I wanted to—I left because I no longer felt safe. But I didn’t leave the
community behind. I still fly in, rent cars, and spend time in the region, continuing to report and often
breaking news about new businesses and developments before anyone else.

I’m David Flash, publisher of Big Bend Times. I’ve built media and marketing platforms across Texas—
publishing Research Valley Press, co-founding College Station Scene, working at Hill Country News
(same group as Alpine Avalanche and Fort Stockton Pioneer), contributing to Maroon Weekly, and
working with KXXV, Spectrum Reach, and the Austin American-Statesman. I also built a daily deal
company that generated hundreds of thousands in revenue for local businesses and donated over
$25,000 to community organizations. I hold a B.A. in History from the University of Texas at Austin
and an M.S. in Digital Audience Strategy from Arizona State University.

Big Bend Times covers Fort Davis and the surrounding region—Alpine, Marfa, Fort Stockton, Presidio,
Balmorhea, Terlingua, and nearby communities. In a region of about 50,000 people, we reach millions
every month, including visitors actively searching for businesses like yours.

I want your ideas and your news. I can also help your business grow—with SEO guidance and
advertising strategies that improve your visibility in search results. I’ve worked with thousands of
businesses on programs that drive real results, and I want to help this community prosper.

Email me: david.flash@gmail.com

I still believe in Fort Davis. I’m still doing the work.
Let’s build something that helps this community grow.

Sincerely,
David Flash
