A Tale of Two Counties

Stories of corruption in county offices in Texas are as old as the republic itself. A lot of crazy things can happen when local government breaks bad. Our federal government has many check and balances and it takes years and years of neglect by both parties to let things devolve into what we see in America today. But if the county judge is dirty, or a prosecutor, or sheriff, a community can be out of luck right away.

For the purpose of this article, we have to pick on a certain county in Texas. Sorry Wilco, you earned it. If one googles “Williamson County Corruption,” well, first you will see some AI slop at the top of the results. This is because google search sucks because google ruined it so people would have to spend more time on their site. Ad tech creeps always gunna creep. Anyway, after ignoring the AI slop at the top of the search results, one finds links to articles about police misconduct, states attorney’s misconduct, all kinds of misconduct from many sources. Tom Mowdy is a lawyer with tons of info about corruption in WilCo. It’s tough to look at all of the results returned when googling “Williamson County Corruption.” I personally know people who moved to Central Texas (gross!) for a job at Dell, but refused to buy housing in WilCo. The place is infamous.

Now try something else. Try googling “Jeff Davis County Corruption.” There are ten links on the first page of results, and no AI slop. Why is there no AI slop? Likely because google’s AI could not find anything to say about corruption in JDC. The ten links can be broken down like this:

3 Facebook links, 2 to texreporter and 1 to bigbendtimes, both Flash’s websites
2 links to stories on bigbendtimes.com, both the typical BS we are all used to from Flash
2 links to to stories on texreporter.com, same typical BS
1 link to Flash’s GoFundMe that falsely accuses JDC of corruption
1 link to the FBI website about a corrupt sheriff in Jeff Davis County, Georgia
1 spotify link to something about Belmont County, where ever that is

Of course your search results may be a little different. The point is that Williamson County has several pages of various links from different sources and stories about horrible corruption in that county. Jeff Davis County, Texas has only links that came from the known liar David Wayne Flash. Before the bottom of the first page of results, google has to pull links from other counties because there isn’t anything else beyond Flash’s false allegations. It’s all the same crap that Flash has been posting anywhere he can for over 2 years, talking about terrible corruption like being asked to pay the fee to enter a state park, or take off your hat in court. If there really was something going on in Jeff Davis County, would Flash be the only person in the world who is posting about it online?
