Whorehouse or Courthouse?

Yesterday at 1:30PM local time, David Flash appeared in court. The judge first asked everyone to turn off their phones, and then told Flash to hand his phone to the bailiff. Acting as bailiff yesterday was JDC Sheriff Victor Lopez. Flash claimed the judge did not have the authority to demand he give up his phone. The judge stated that she did have the authority and instructed Flash to give his phone to the Bailiff, which he finally did.

After that Flash’s attorney, Shane O’Neal, requested that a condition of Flash’s bond, that he remain at least 300 feet from the county courthouse, be lifted. The prosecution did not object to this and the judge granted it. This is the bond condition that Flash has claimed on his smear sites was a constitutional violation. The truth is it’s just a normal part of being released on bond. During this exchange, Flash was heard by people in the courtroom saying the word “whorehouse” instead of “courthouse” several times. The judge finally commented about this and Flash and his attorney seemed to pretend not to have heard what the judge said. The proceedings quickly moved on, but the damage was done. Flash once again demonstrated his childish behavior and did it right in front of the judge.

People entering the courtroom that day had to go through additional security including a metal detector. There must have been at least ten Texas State Troopers there providing boots on the ground should there be any trouble. And the prosecutors from the OAG had their own private security in the courtroom as well.

It’s no surprise the judge granted the change of venue. The courtroom was absolutely packed with people. It seemed like everyone who could get there was there. Mary Ann, our Justice of the Peace, is extremely well liked in the community and there was a strong show of support. Flash entered the courtroom with only his attorney and this reporter could not identify anyone who was there supporting Flash.

[This section was removed because we found out that Flash’s lawyer is no longer a public defender.]

As mentioned here, there was a storm that formed in the late morning and intensified just as the proceedings began. Then hail began falling. Thunder, lightning, rain, and hail continued until everything was done and Flash was leaving the county. Many locals are calling it a sign from God himself.
