UPDATED: The Problem With AI Slop Journalism

One of the biggest problems, besides completely inaccurate articles, with AI slop ‘journalism’ is that you have to be paying attention to what the AI is generating, otherwise you end up looking like a fool. We saw this with Carlos Nogueras Ramos at The Texas Tribune recently when his sloppy use of AI (we suspect anyway) had him posting something saying Marfa is 55 miles south of Fort Davis. The Texas Tribune still refuses to respond to requests to correct, or perhaps more appropriately, completely retract the hit piece Carlos Nogueras Ramos ‘wrote’ in defense of the con man and provocateur David Flash. It’s a real shame that formerly respected outlets like The Texas Tribune have stooped as low as publishing click bait hit pieces on local law enforcement. But enough about Carlos.

Today we look at 2 recent stories by the con man and AI slop, fake journalist David Flash. Flash uses AI to steal content from other places to post on his strange websites. One of the problems with using AI this way is that David apparently can’t remember which stories he has stolen to post about. Case in point, 2 articles posted 2 days apart about the same topic, with the exact same information in each story but the text was generated a little different. And of course as is typical for Flash, he does not include a URL for the subject of his articles. This is because he wants to take their clicks by posting 2 articles with the same keywords so that it’s more likely people with find his articles instead of the real article from the event sponsor. Then Flash can post about his SpyFu data showing he has the biggest keyword numbers. It seems everything about Flash’s websites is a click-bait scam to pump his numbers.

First, on August 15, Flash posted the article below with info on the Mule Deer Foundation Annual Banquet:

Then just 2 days later, Flash posts the same info arranged a little different. Perhaps Flash found the deer pic and decided to just post a second article instead of fixing the one with the terrible picture of the Alpine Civic Center:

If anyone wants to know more, the actual website for the event is: https://muledeer.org/event/alpine-tx-alpine-chapter-banquet/

UPDATE: We are so glad David is keeping up with our reporting. Several stories he has posted since we published this article have included the URL that he steals content from. Credit where credit is due, and HI DAVID!!!!!!!!!1
